How to find your Google reviews and reply to them

To see reviews of your own business, sign in to the Google Account that manages it, search your business name on Google or tap Business in the Maps app, then choose Read reviews. To see reviews you've written, open Google Maps, tap Contribute, then View your profile and See all reviews.

“My Google reviews” means two different things, depending on who’s asking. If you run a business, it’s the reviews customers have left about you. If you’re a customer, it’s the reviews you’ve written about places you’ve been. Here’s how to find both, on a phone or a computer, and how a business replies to each one.

Find your Google reviews as a business owner

First, sign in to the Google Account that manages your Business Profile, your business’s listing on Google Search and Maps. If you can’t see the options below, you’re probably signed in to a different account, or Google hasn’t verified (confirmed) the profile yet.

On a computer

  1. Search your business name and suburb on Google, or search my business.
  2. Your Business Profile appears with its management options.
  3. Select Read reviews to see every review.

In the Google Maps app

  1. Open Google Maps on your phone.
  2. Tap Business at the bottom right. If you manage more than one business, use the arrow at the top to pick the right one.
  3. Tap Reviews.

Turn on review alerts so you hear about a new review the day it lands. In Google Search, open your Business Profile, select More, then Notifications. In the Maps app, tap Business, then the bell at the top right.

Find the Google reviews you wrote

On your phone (Android or iPhone)

  1. Open the Google Maps app.
  2. Tap Contribute, then View your profile.
  3. Scroll down and tap See all reviews.

On a computer

  1. Open Google Maps and sign in.
  2. Click Menu at the top left.
  3. Click Your contributions, then Reviews.

Your reviews are public, and show your Google Account name or a custom display name if you’ve set one in your profile. To change or remove one, see how to delete a Google review. How to reply to your Google reviews

Replying shows future customers how you treat people, and Google tells the reviewer when you’ve answered. Your reply appears under your business name, not your personal name.

  1. Open your Business Profile and select Read reviews.
  2. Select Reply next to the review.
  3. Write your reply and select Reply again.

Your reply usually appears within 10 minutes, once Google has checked it against its policies. Now and then the check takes longer, up to 30 days. You can edit or delete a reply later from the same Read reviews screen. Your profile must be verified to reply. Google: read and reply to reviews

What to write

  • Thank them and mention the job, so the reply reads like a person wrote it.
  • For a bad review, stay calm, stick to the facts and invite them to contact you directly.
  • Never share a customer’s personal details or argue the point in public.
  • Keep it short. Strangers read replies to judge you, not to read an essay.

Questions about finding your Google reviews

You’re probably signed in to a Google Account that doesn’t manage the profile, or the profile isn’t verified. Sign in with the account that owns or manages it. If you manage several businesses, check you’ve selected the right one.

You see the name and picture the reviewer chose to show, which may be their Google Account name or a custom display name. You can’t contact a reviewer through Google, except by replying publicly.

Yes, if notifications are on. Customer activity alerts can come by email, in Google Search or in the Maps app. Switch them on from your Business Profile under More, then Notifications.

Most appear quickly, but Google’s policy checks can take a few days. Your average star rating can take up to two weeks to update.

No. Businesses can’t delete or edit reviews. You can report a review that breaks Google’s policies, and Google decides. How removal works
